Troubleshooting
I got a problem with the phone application download.
Please check, if mobile data transmission and a data plan have been activated in your mobile phone and/or if the link you enter to your internet browser in the phone is typed correctly. If you still have problems, please contact our technical support.
The phone’s positions do not show on the map anymore, even thought the phone application is running and set “On” in the phone.
Sometimes it can happen that the GPS chip “freezes” in the phone. Try to turn the phone off and on again. If it does not help, check the connection settings/internet connection in your phone. Sometimes there is a time-out period preset after which the connection automatically ends. Make sure the connection is set as unlimited.
I have followed the instructions for the system initiation, but I can see no phone’s positions on the map anyway.
It can take some time before the GPS chip in your phone “catches on”, if you have just started running the application for the first time. You can make it easier, if you go outside a building to an open space with the phone. Please also make sure, the service “Assisted GPS” is active (for Symbian) or that you have updated the GPS data in your phone (for Windows Mobile).
The phone application is running and set “On”, my phone is laying on my desk all day, but it looks like the phone is moving - I can see some false tracks on the map.
This is a problem we are still working on and we hope we will eliminate it in the next version of the system. The above described situation occurs when the phone is inside a building and GPS satellites cannot locate the chip in the phone. Therefore they are “looking for it” all around using base transceiver stations (BTS), which provide only approximate positions of the phone. Then it looks like the phone is moving on the map.
I have realized that the phone’s positions stop showing up on the map during a phone call.
Yes, the data transmission is being held up during the phone call, but the phone’s positions are still collected and sent all at once to our server after the phone call is finished. This is how it works in GPRS network. In UMTS network the data is transmitted during a phone call as well.
