How to operate the application in the telephone via the web interface?

The application can be operated once you have signed in using the ‘Telephone control’ module.

!!! This will only work if the application is running in the telephone in ‘Stopped’ mode.

Method for ‘Operating application’:
  1. In the left column, click on the name of the telephone which you wish to operate.
  2. Information on controlling the telephone is displayed.
  3. Click on the button ‘Retrieve set-up’.
  4. The upper blue ribbon displays other items which you can set and manage the application for the selected telephone.

Items which can be set

Telephone control
Telephone control – select the ‘On’/‘Off’ button if you want to turn on/off position reading in the telephone.
Request offline data – set the date for which you want to receive information and press the ‘Send’ button.
Telephone set-up – Select the ‘Retrieve set-up’ button to check the current set-up for the selected telephone.

Positioning methods
Here you should tick which methods for position reading should be used for the selected telephone. Confirm your selection with the ‘Save’ button.
User set-up
Enter the name of the telephone which will be displayed in the web, e-mail and password to access the telephone application.

Monitoring set-up
Select one of four possible modes (intervals) for telephone position reading and confirm your selection by clicking the ‘Save’ button.
The ‘Optimal mode’ offers the most acceptable compromise for the user in terms of useful position reading values and telephone battery lifetime.

Planning
Set up a weekly telephone monitoring schedule. For each day of the week you can set up a time period from-to or select the ‘Whole day’ option to set up monitoring for the selected day from 00:00 to 23:59 hours. If you select:

  • Active – monitoring for the selected day will follow the set plan.
  • Every working day – monitoring only from Monday to Friday.
  • Every day – monitoring from Monday to Sunday.

All changes made can be saved by clicking the ‘Save’ button.
The application will turn monitoring on or off in the telephone in accordance with the set schedule.
If monitoring is switched on according to the schedule and any user switches off monitoring in the telephone, the application remains in its latest amended state until a new event takes place in the schedule.

Txt msg configuration
Here you can allow or disallow telephone control via text messaging. To allow it, tick the ‘Turn on txt msg control’ option. Then choose a list of authorised telephone numbers which will be allowed to control the telephone via text messaging.
Enter the telephone numbers using the format 00420XXXXXX and click the ‘Add’ button. The telephone number will be automatically saved and move into the right-hand column. You can remove it by selecting it in the right-hand column and clicking the ‘Remove’ button.
Alls changes made can be saved by clicking the ‘Save’ button.
Allowing this function means the application will analyse all incoming text messages to the telephone. If the text message is of a ‘specific format’ (see table below), the application will perform the related task.

TEXT MESSAGE FORMAT APPLICATION TASK
POM_A_A1 Turn on monitoring in automatic saver mode.
POM_A_A2 or in shorter format simply POM A Turn on monitoring in automatic optimal mode.
POM_A_A3 Turn on monitoring in automatic intensive mode.
POM_D Turn off monitoring in application.
POM_INFO_{time} In place of {time}, enter the number of seconds from 1 to 60 for which the telephone will attempt to determine the current position of the telephone via GPS, e.g. POM_INFO_58 for a time of 58 seconds. If it is unable to determine position via GPS, it will find its position via BTS. Once the position has been determined, it sends a text message to the number from which the request came in the format: POM: (Time of positioning) (Method of acquisition (G/B) (Longitude) (Latitude) and a link to http://maps.google.com/ to display the current position on a map. If co-ordinates were unable to be obtained, the application sends this message:

POM NO DATA
POM_INFO This text message format is the same as the previous one, but it uses a default time setting of 60 seconds.
